Today-The Trio of OZ makes a side trip to Platania, a town of 2400 people where Rachel Z’s grandfather is from.
Francesco Nicolazzo left Platania to become a successful businessman in Kane,PA in the 1900s.
Last night at 8pm Solomon and Rachel performed for the Festival of Porcini Mushroom organized by Pro Loco
Communiale and Rachel received a Certificate from the Mayor Michele
Rizzo in honor of her late dad Ed Nicolazzo!
Several amazing cousins came out Dr Franco Cappello and his wife and Antonio Follino! Beautiful people! We are lucky to have people who care about our music and life so far away!
Omar said that he felt very connected to Platania! He felt the spiritual nature of the area. Our translator Giovanna Cappello told us the history of Platania.
This town is located in the hills above Nicastro in a spot where the people can see the sea but the invadors from Spain,France ,Arabia,Northern Italy
cannot spot this little hill town!
